By the way, that was the email I sent to stars and stripes regarding the situation here. I think it needs more refining but I thought it represented the general feeling here.
Today I cried for the first time since basic training, full 25 months and odd days. I was talking to my step father, who I believe has come a long way since I first met him. He listened, took my anger outright and even took me slamming the phone on him, without ever raising a voice. I guess he knows my anger’s not on him since that’s not what we were talking about. But I think, no I know any lesser man would have not cooperated as much. We have our disagreements, too, sometimes, but I must say today I was impressed.
