Earthquake!
[KPMG],
This letter is to inform you that I am withdrawing my application for summer internship program with KPMG.
At this junction in time, I cannot extend the confirmation period with another program that I had concurrently been pursuing. I was overwhelmingly impressed with the assertive demeanor within KPMG, especially with my interviewer Mr. Joe Yuen, and this is one of the toughest decisions to make especially because I was very much looking forward to the Inside Look event. Although I have wanted to attend the event to get a better idea about the company in case of future employment opportunities, I do not believe it is ethically right for me to compete for a summer internship when others may be heavily relying on KPMG’s decisions.
I want to express my greatest thanks and gratitude for extending the invitation towards a Second Round interviews and wish KPMG and its summer interns nothing but the best.
This withdrawal was pretty tough because I had to write this email soon after receiving one from them:
March 9 Dinner at the Palace Hotel (www.sfpalace.com):
Grilled New York Steak and Lobster with Nantua Sauce and Roquefort Butter, Caramelized Shallots,
Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables
Sigh…
