So Helen told me about how the Japanese Prime Minister has denied apologizing for the Korean Comfort Women during the Japanese occupancy because it was ‘consensual’. Well, I don’t know about you, but I came out of my mother’s womb passionate about my career in being a male prostitute…

It would be like Americans refusing to apologize for the Japanese internment during World War II and claim they were only protecting the Japanese from the rest of the society out for blood.

It would be as if Americans refused to apologize for slavery because it was ‘white man’s burden.’

As much as the rest of the world hates our guts, there’s some things that Americans do that I’m very proud of. Virginia has recently expressed ‘profound regret’ (link to cnn) over the slavery issue by a unanimous vote, so I was taken back to find out that social issues like the comfort women still remain unresolved.
