UC Berkeley 41 – Berkeley, California – 2002

Went to internship interview at Merrill Lynch early in the morning.  Got there at 8:45, and Martha Madrid, the senior financial advisor and vice president of the Private Corporate Group at Berkeley, was running late, and I was directed by the assisstant of Martha to go ahead and start writing down addresses of people on envelopes.  Well, she came later on, and helped me out with some things, and we took care of the 2 page paperwork.  I’m really excited about this internship.  Not only is an internship something pretty hard to get especially so early as a freshman, this can probably get me an excellent chance at Haas School of Business.  Too bad it’s non-paying.  But this gives me something to do other than fooling around at home, and something to put on my currently not so appealing resume.  Also, during the second year of this internship, they will start mentoring me, getting me more information on how to become a financial advisor myself, show me what they do in a more professional level, get me books to read, applications to different Merrill Lynch branches for jobs and such, put in good words for me in applications, basically help me ultimately become a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch.  Good news, and I am really excited to continue this internship.  Nancy says that she did some research and projects and stuff last semester, but this semester is starting off slow.  Hopefully, things will start to pick up after a while.  Went to English class, came back home, did nightly routine stuff
