Did I say I’ve never sweated so much before? I stand corrected. Today is only July, and we’re already in heat CAT V by 0900 hours. We marched to victory tower today. It was really fun, actually just did some rope exercises, and then rappelled 45 feet off the ground. Took the whole first half of the day. Then, at lunch, something crazy happened. In 15 minutes, it started to rain from heat CAT V. Then it started to hail, and the whole place was filled with nothing but water. 2 tents they had set up started to fly away, so there we were, holding on to the most of 240 of us, as it rained so cold everyone caught cold. Then, 30 minutes later, it was heat CAT V again. Kind of like Vietnam in Forrest Gump. Then we got our luggage and started moving out. The strangest thing was, it was raining like crazy all around us when we started to move out, but it was sunny in an about 5-mile radius in every direction. It was so close yet so far. We could see the lightning and hear the thunder, but we had nothing drop on us after the 30 minutes. Eating in hail was a new experience for all of us, we’re tired now, but it was worth it. Then we got our hair cuts. People got jealous because the barbers I had left some hair on top and was actually straight and not crooked. So here I am, writing in the dark with my flashlight on. People are talking in our room as usual, especially me battle body Martinez. Except he won’t be around for long. He’s getting medical discharge because his knee is jacked, the tendons have been out of place for more than 9 months, and it cracks and hurts him everytime he walks or even moves it. On top of that, he’s got Article 15 (misconduct behavior) for going AWOL, which wasn’t really the case, so he can’t be an officer like he always wanted to when he goes to West Point. On top of that, just girlfriend just sent him a mail saying she can’t trust him anymore because one of his good friends started telling her fake secrets about him. Anyway, it’s so humid here, I’m sweating just sitting on my bed and writing.
