UC Berkeley 2 – Berkeley, California – 2002

Busy day today. I slept at 4 am last night talking to people… and 2 people, Shally Hu and Kim Grant, ims me at 3, and I end up blocking both of them. I’m not very fond of them.. well not anymore anyway. I woke up at 11AM to a phone ringing… it was Michael.. it went something like this:

-Hello?
–Hi, Elliott?
-Yeah, what’s up?
–Hi, it’s Michael
-Yeah, what’s up?
–Did I wake you up? Damn, I’m sorry
-Nah it’s alright. What’s up bud
–Do you wanna go to Pomona?
-WHAT?!!!

Well, it so happened that he needed to go to Pomona cuz he’s going to Cal Poly Pomona, and he wanted to find a COMPUSA or another store to work at while he attended college there. At first, I said no… because I had too many things planned, that I can go tomorrow, so he said alright let’s go tomorrow. So starting 1130 hours, I did a lot of things. 1) Ordered a new set of dog tags 1800nametape.com ($8). 2) Called Vista College, arranged an assessment test for 1PM on tuesday, classes start on the 22nd, Thursday. Counseling is on a walk on basis. Lots of classes are filled, but there are that aren’t 3) Called Cerritos College, had my transcripts for the business 101 class I took cuz I never found out what I got($3.50). 4) Called Army unit, told them my new address is Berkeley 94704, not 94720. They said they would get the new address faxed to the right people right away. 5) Called Cal Football. I’m bummed out. I didn’t get the job, it’s been already filled up. I asked if there are other jobs I can get with the team, but they said no. So I’m bummed out, and I plan on going shopping for stores to work in when i get up there.

6) Then, I realized it’s only 1230 PM when i was almost done with all this. I called Michael back, said let’s go today instead, he said alright, and got me a double double for my lunch and thank you for coming with. He would have stayed pretty long in those freeways too… the carpool lane was much much better, and I acted as the navigator for about 10 miles on local roads back cuz we knew the 10 West was going to be crammed. He applied to Circuit City and Compusa there, about 10 miles east of Pomona. Good 40 minute drive there and back. Got back around 5PM.

Stopped by Best Buy, the disposable camera films are now developed and in my hands. I guess it’ll take a little more for the 4 other rolls of film to get back, I used up 3 different sets of those drop in things, 1 for each of the 2 disposables, and 1 for the 4 rolls of film to develop. Most of the pictures turned out very nice.

Decided to stick with Michael a little more, and went to COMPUSA with Allan, another friend of mine, and Michael to COMPUSA. Allan bought the LCD 15 inch monitor he was looking for, got a 12 dollar discount out of 350 dollars because Michael works there. I also bought a USB port for dad originally 30, got discounted down to 20. His USB doesn’t work, so I needed to buy working USBs for his PCI slot. I just finished installing it.

So as you can see, I’m keeping myself very very busy, and I’m very glad I gave myself this time to catch up, 5 days of preparation since the Sunday I got back from Korea. I’m gonna leave pretty soon with Patrick to go trenchcoat shopping at Burlington Coat Factory. We went shopping yesterday at the mall and he spent good money on some dress shoes, sweats, a shirt, and some pants, but he wants to get a trenchcoat for Berkeley. I doubt we’ll buy anything though. It’s 7 PM, and I’m glad I set today to do a lot of things.
