Long day! To start it off, I woke up ‘early’ at 8:30 AM to get to KCPC at San Francisco. I caught the bus with some people by Unit 1, and I met a lot of people. It was kind of strange seeing Ted, my brother’s old roommate, again at the church. I thought he would be totally gone back to the state he came from, but he’s still around here. He was this short chick with some freckles, and I asked her if we’ve met before cuz she seemed kind of familiar. And she says we have through my brother. I asked her if she was always that short, cuz she was like 4 11! And well, I was joking around of course, and both of them burst out laughing. Not that it was a great joke or anything, but I know it reminded them of my brother a lot. Met a few people here and there, and Alice Chung, ‘Patrick’s Prom Date’ on the way home in the bus. I accidentally sliped out the word notorious along with the phrase prom date, and well, she wanted to know why I used such a word…. Then she wanted to know again! after I told her it was just a joke. So for the 20 minute bus ride back home, she really wanted to know pretty bad… Well, I came back home and something happened. Apparently, Patrick had called Tony to see if he could come over to cook something for lunch, Tony said ok, and when Patrick tries to call Tony’s cell number and home number, no one answered. Why? Tony was taking a shower… It so happens, though, that I was coming back home as Patrick was giving up all hope. So he came in, we ate, and I got ready to go to BERKELEY MARINA! It was going to be a preparatory trip, 10 miles total, for my trip to my Army unit in West Oakland. What happened was there was a map in the brochure people were handing out at Sproul Plaza, and there was Berkeley Marina on the West side of Berkeley, not too far from campus. So I of course did some research and found out some necessities, and decided to go. I borrowed Patrick’s map in case I got lost, and I did of course. I was almost there when there was a 117 car train that passed by … very very slowly. Thank goodness I was there for the last couple dozen, people were standing around forever trying to get by. But I also fell from my bike when I didn’t notice some change in elevation and my back wheel got caught. This guy named Julio at some Auto shop fixed me up real good, and I went on to Berkeley Marina. It has one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen in my life. With the rocky creek, windsurfing men and kayacking women, golden gate bridge to the west and bay bridge to the south connecting Treasure Island, and Alcatraz defiently standing round and tall in the middle of the Bay, it was a sight I would have never known existed if I didn’t take the 10 mile bike journey. Although it was tiring, it was well worth it. It took me about 20, 30 minutes to get there, took a 2 hour personal quiet time biking around, sitting around, and 30 minutes to 40 minutes back 4 miles uphill. Awesome day.
