So I’m part of the 457 of 1110, or roughly 40 percent. Now I have to make the 20 percent cut from there. The second part of the application is due on the 16th. I hope I make it.

I haven’t updated for a while. I feel like a lot has been happening, but at the same time, not too much has. I’ve been fairly busy pretty much every weekend though.

I went snowboarding about 3 weekends ago. I had a lot of fun, it was also the first time I went snowboarding at Tahoe. We left early at like 6, and got back around 7. I still can’t carve, but I think I am definitely getting better, considering it was only my 3rd time going. I think one or two more times and I can probably carve at a blue line. I got hurt pretty badly, though, trying to toe when the slope was going really fast and I lost control. I couldn’t breath for a few seconds, and my back hurt like hell. I also ran into Mike because I was going too fast and I was trying to dump all this snow on him, but I ended up hitting his back instead. I bought him lunch…

I finally got to see San Francisco’s Golden Park. I was there with Woody and Fred on a volunteering job with OneBrick, and I met all sorts of people there, including an Indian Lawyer, a construction worker, a British homemaker, an artist, an architect, and of course, social workers and students of sorts. I was on the wheelbarrow. I remember when I was little I couldn’t handle a wheelbarrow at all. So I was a bit skeptical at first, but I suppose my coordination skills have improved since when I was 8.

I went to Susannie’s Birthday party at this place called Lofton’s in SF (10 Mar 05). It was ok, I wasn’t impressed. I still believe Wisconsin really knows how to party. Maybe it’s because there’s nothing to do in Wisconsin that makes everyone so wild, but it was just fun, and there was no pressure to try and be cool. I felt pressured to act a certain way. Maybe it was also because there were a bunch of people from church that went, but it was also the atmosphere. There was no atmosphere that encouraged getting to know new people, something we were all able to do fairly well in Wisconsin. I had a bunch of drinks, Adioses and Long Islands, but they were 8 dollars each, so I only had 5 of them in about 2 hours. That did the job. I remember going to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so. Afterwards we stopped by Denny’s, where I said some things I probably normally wouldn’t say if I remained coherent. But I know my limit now, and I know how I should act if I am drunk. I’m not as crazy as I was before, and I actually remember some things I said.

I’ve been to the Sushi house about 4 times this Junior year so far. It’s amazing because before this year I’ve never even heard of it. It’s all fine and dandy except it’s getting really expensive. But damn, Patrick’s never gone before and I should definitely go again sometime.

I’m pretty much a shoe in for the student manager job with the Cal Football team. I don’t really know too much about the job, but I get the feeling it’s a lot of inventorying equipment, a lot of laundry for the players, a lot of waterboy work, breaking my back for 10 dollars an hour. But I think the experience might be worth it. This is probably the closest thing to any professional sports I’ll ever get to experience. And so, with some reservations, I am excited to be part of the Cal Athletics program.

We finally decided to get Netflix. I think it’s been worth it so far, and there are so many other movies I really should get to see.

So I’ve never had a Spring Break in college before. I’m looking forward to it. Jason was talking about possibly going to Mexico to chill at the beaches for a couple days. I don’t know if it will ever happen, but if it does, it will be one hell of a trip.
