So far, most of the tasks have been somewhat challenging but nothing I couldn’t do. One seemed somewhat mundane (hiding rows in excel spreadsheets that didn’t pertain to a certain brand), but because there were 2600 rows with 15 different worksheets, I had to look into creating macros for the task, which helped me cut down a lot of time. I stayed until 9 PM that night to finish the reports for a certain brand group. I got my first dose of disappointment when my task got put on hold after 24 hours because even though I was ahead of schedule, they wanted to change the layout.
But the other task was much more interesting. It consisted of working with the revenues derived from IBM’s clients. From that list I had to work with year to year and compounded revenue growth, and later gross profit percentages. This took a bit longer than expected, but I wanted the numbers to be accurate, and it was nice to have people helping me out along the way, clarifying things I wasn’t sure of and teaching me things I didn’t understand.
