GMAT Preparation 68 – IBM – Financial Analyst – New York – 2009

What drives me is not some lust for money. What really drives me is the knowledge that I am fortunate enough to even have these opportunities in front of me, a certain unimaginable set of circumstances for those that put me here. I am absolutely nothing without those around me. And I learned that I am lucky… damn lucky… to have been shaped by these circumstances. To me, everything happens for a reason is not just a saying: it’s been a constant mantra of my being whether I want to believe it or not. And to be here, against the odds because of certain risks that others took on my behalf, angers me, knowing that they deserved nothing less than the same opportunities. And that anger… is the fuel that has shaped who I am… and the means for me to convince everyone that the world is not as unjust as the years tries to instill in us.

We are not mere mortals with a soul. We are not mere worshipers of god. We are not mere instruments of financial success.

We are all lonely sons of bitches who has to make a choice. Either believe the former and die alone. Or believe that we are intricately interwoven individual pieces of a collective whole…. and live together.
