Cal just had a tremendous recruiting season, capped off by the last minute commitment of 3 key players. Keenan Allen, previously verballed to Alabama, Chris McCain, previously verballed to Oregon, and Gabe King, who was going to verbal to Oregon during the Army All American Game, all committed to Cal at the last minute. They played 3 years of high school football together, and that helped our recruiting tremendously.
