Went PT (Physical Training). Wasn’t hard, just need 13 pushups and 17 situps for passing. When I get there, though, it will be raised to 40 and about 50 respectively, just to pass. I tried to run with this fat guy for the mile run, 8:30 max, but he couldn’t do it, I hate to bail and sprint the last quarter mile from 7 minutes, my time was 8:06. I passed, but he didn’t, he got 9:30. He’ll be shipping to basic only if he does, too. Lots of emotion going around here, people are happy because they passed PT. Sure basic training will be tough, but this reception station is worse for most of us. They gave us $648.00 worth of equipment handed to us.

Anyway, that was a long list. It’s heavy stuff, too. We had to carry them around everywhere. Weightlifters say it about 150 lbs of equipment. Some girls pissed us off. In the lunch lines, they would be allowed to get in front of us. Considering over 3,800 people here want 3 meals everyday, waiting alone takes 30 minutes minimum, and the drill sgt. let them ahead of us? Us males yelled out equal opportunity. Nothing happened though. All of us are wearing BDUs (Basic Dress Uniform), the green camouflaged uniform that is, and heavy boots and caps on our heads. They say it’s only 85º out, 95º including humidity, 103º with our BDUs on. So there we were, waiting the line to slowly move. The food’s good, but the menu rarely changes, but can’t complain about food. Did nothing else for the rest of the night, exactly nothing. There we were, standing in, sweating like pigs and waiting for further orders that never came till bedtime. Lights out.
