College football begins this week! Are you pumped?
“I think many people assume, wrongly, that a company exists simply to make money,” said [David] Packard during an [Hewlett Packard] management training session in 1960. “While this is an important result of a company’s existence, we have to go deeper and find the real reasons for our being…We inevitably come to the conclusion that a group of people get together and exist as an institution that we call a company so that they are able to accomplish something collectively that they could not accomplish separately – they make a contribution to society.”
“Any why can get you through any how”
Olympic Decathlon. You know, I was a bit ignorant and never knew it existed. Much, much, much respect to Bryan Clay, the “world’s greatest athlete.” I still think that Tour de France (cycling) is the overall hardest event, but the decathlon must be the hardest event to master.
Congratulations to Michael Phelps. I think swimming has way too many medals that they give out. They’ve gotta get rid of something…. Hell, they’re even getting rid of baseball and softball for 2012!

Is it odd to like McCain better but to want Obama to win? Our economy is in shambles, and 15% capital gains tax is almost criminal (Obama supports raising it to 25%, McCain leaving it there). I’ve said this several times: I support lower taxes (income taxes mostly) but I do not support lowering taxes AND going to war at the same time. Whose stupid idea was that?
However, I do not think Universal Health Care funded by the government is a good idea. It’ll be another “Social Security,” somethig that will leave this country in shambles.
