Brady Quinn fallng to 22nd pick? There’s something wrong with that. Sure, I hate Notre Dame as a football team but only because I think they’re overrated year after year. When they’ve lost as many consecutive bowl games as they have (I think it’s 8 now?), why do they still get all the spotlight? But that doesn’t mean I hate Quinn as an individual or as a player. I think he’s a decent QB, and don’t know how he’ll do in the NFL. And it was saddening seeing him stranded out there like that.
So for the last 2 years, I’ve prediced 50% of the of the BCS championship game matches right before the seasons began. In 2005, I predicted Cal vs. Texas, and in 2006 predicted Cal vs. Ohio State (after watching Ohio State thoroughly beat Notre Dame the year before). But could this be the year my percentages go down?
2007 prediction: Cal vs. Texas, yes, again. And yes, I’m always going to have Cal in there. And yes, I do realize Texas lost a lot of capable players especially on defense. But look at their schedules and matches and especially the losses like Adrian Peterson at Oklahoma. Colt McCoy will be in the hunt for the Heisman. In the Pac-10, USC Trojans will dominate again but the condoms will be shredded by the mighty golden bears at Memorial Stadium. UCLA will improve but will be a much significant contender in 2008. Wait till summer to pass judgement on Oregon, but the biggest threat right now I think for the Pac 10 that people aren’t considering is Washington (darkhorse).
