Saturday. Which meant I had to wake up at 9 to go to Art class from 930 till 1230. I told the teacher I had to leave for ‘personal reasons’ at 1115. I just had to attend the Cal football game. The teacher was talking about the stuff in the book, and that didn’t interest me very much, since I already knew what was going on anyway. So I get back home, eat, and meet up with Patrick who supplied me with the free ticket. On the way there, we run into Tiffany, and watch the Cal Bears Football at 1230. The start was an amazing 20 seconds-into-the-game touchdown for Cal. The ball went to Baylor, whose mascot was the Bears… then we intercepted their pass on the first play. It was quite exciting for a while, but since the game was an overkill on our side, victory 70 to 22, it lost its appetite after a while. But I did manage to take a lot of pictures of the cute cheerleaders, and am proud to proclaim that I have gotten our mascot Oski the Bear’s signature on my ticket PLUS a picture with him. WOW. The band was also amazing. They showed off some of the routines they had been practicing, and the way they were marching and doing the formations and such was just spectacular. Also seeing conductors on all 4 sides of the football fields for the band was a new experience for me. I was hoping our Golden Bear mascot Oski would have a fight with their mascot Bear, but it never happened. Did you know that Berkeley used to use live mascots for Berkeley football games with ‘varying degrees of success’ until the 1960s? Well, I hope they bring back the tradition sometime soon, that’ll be interesting. Their cheerleaders did some crazy jumps and stuff, and I’m quite sure their parents/fans came to watch the cheer/yell leaders strut their stuff and swing each other around and do some flips. The game ended at around 4pm, and we went to Cafe Milano or something listening to Indian music. I didn’t like the food too much, and probably will never go there EVER again. Came back to Tiffany’s dorm, met up with her roommate Allison, came back to my apartment, showed off some pictures, dropped off Tiffany who was going to some music friend’s house taking the bus there, went to Patrick’s to fool around a bit, and came back home around 9PM to do some homework. I had been waiting for the end of August for so long, since it just meant that the days here in College is going just as fast. I also feel like September will be a newer beginning for me, my college career didn’t start too well, and I am still struggling to find out the information that I would like to have. So much complicated stuff going on at one time, but I am glad to have taken care of a lot of them. Could use a job, though. Went to sleep at 3AM talking to David Uyan and Sung Nam.
