Went to the main college building, and got lots of things done. I got my college ID, finally, which looks alright. A photo ID with a bar code, not too shabby. I can finally show my Elliott Kim I paid tuition, 165 dollars, but I think I can get refund on that, hopefully all of it. Refunded Walgreen stuff, 12 bucks worth of stuff I didn’t need. Got information and sheets on receiving Army GI Bill benefits, which just meant a LOT more paperwork. Went to class, the english teacher didn’t like the fact that I wrote so highly of the American educational system. He instead chose another guy’s paper to read that supported his idea of american education system gone bad. He made us read this book about East (or was it West?) St. Louis, where the African Americans were brought in to meet the demand of industrializing American nation, and later the whites left, blacks stayed, and the city slowly dwindled into nothing and decayed into a sewage system on ground zero. Well, first of all, there was obviously a lot of financial mishaps that lead to that, and if it is that bad, then the families there should leave, because things obviously are becoming worse than better. And even if there are communities that are like that, it is only a small percentage of American education system, and I didn’t like the whole discussion we were having cuz everyone else was agreeing with the teacher and it was time to go. I guess I would have said something if I had 5 more minutes. Tell everyone my step-father’s a community organizer, he’s an expert at this thing, and it’s horrible what’s happening, but it’s not the government’s fault. There are lots of mistakes and abuses occuring at the local level, and if the government does indeed make mistakes deliberately or otherwise, it is usually brought to the attention of the media, which changes lots of things quickly and efficiently. All in all, if the school system was really that bad to an even close to being significant percentage of American educational system, it would not be the superpower that it is at the moment. If you wanna dispute that or express your resentment, please feel free to do so. Came back home, nightly routine. And yes, Kelly Clarkson won American Idol, she’s not HOT, but she’s cute, and yes, she can sing, a lot better than the other Sideshow Bob look-alike where his spotlight lies with the same spread his legs and swing dance moves.
